About us:
The F.I.N.D. Design (Families in Need of Direction) is a 501(c)(3) community-based organization serving black and brown girls aged 11-17 in Mid-TN middle and high schools. Our mission is to create a powerful ecosystem of support that fosters the health, wealth, community, and education needed for these girls to thrive. By employing healing-centered, strength-based, and culturally relevant approaches, we provide a continuum of learning opportunities tailored to the unique experiences of black and brown girls. Through sister circles, we harness the power of friendships, fictive kin networks, and a strong sense of community among African American females (Neal-Barnett et al., 2011). These circles create safe environments where girls can heal from the effects of racism, discrimination, and other risk factors. Our impactful services focus on nurturing ethnic identity, building relationships, fostering community and school engagement, and advocating for the needs of black and brown girls. By tapping into their internal strength and capabilities, we empower these girls to develop higher-level thinking skills and become high achievers in their schools and communities.

Position Summary:
As the FLY Girl Programs Architect, you will play a pivotal role in steering our program initiatives. Your leadership will guide the planning and execution of our programs, ensuring their seamless implementation. Leading a team of talented staff, you will facilitate their development while ensuring the delivery of exceptional experiences for our participants.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
– Conceptualize and design comprehensive programs tailored to resonate with the unique experiences of our participants.
– Collaborate closely with the team to transform program concepts into tangible experiences, demonstrating meticulous coordination.
– Maintain a vigilant oversight of program activities, aligning them with our mission and objectives.
– Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, fostering their growth and enhancing their performance.
– Champion organizational efficiency by skillfully managing logistics, scheduling, and intricate details.
– Cultivate community relationships, fostering a two-way dialogue to ensure the authenticity and impact of our programs.

Other Responsibilities:
– Submit accurate, timely, written reports.
– Aid in or handle special assignments as directed.
– Complete basic administrative work.

Minimum Requirements:
– High school diploma or GED
– Must be at least 21 years of age
– 4+ years of general work experience or equivalent number of hours worked in full-time or volunteer work.
– Must demonstrate awareness and acceptance of cultural differences of clients, staff and community contacts.
– Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
– A profound understanding of the essence of FLY Girl, derived either from personal experiences or substantial community involvement.
– Adept organizational skills, capable of managing multifaceted tasks, deadlines, and complexities.
– While formal education is commendable, equivalent life experience is equally valuable, reflecting deep knowledge and expertise.
– Demonstrated leadership acumen, inspiring others to excel under your guidance.
– Proficiency in cultural nuances is not just a concept but a way of operating, evident in your daily work.
– Exceptional communication abilities, from engaging with participants to collaborating with community partners.
– Valid driver’s license, clear driving record and current automobile insurance.

– Bachelor’s degree desired in education, social work, or childhood development, or 5+ years of work experience in youth development and youth/program coordination.
– Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Passion for youth empowerment, mindfulness, and community development.
– Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. (Training provided)
– Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities preferred
