BIO

Rev. James Turner II is a native of Nashville, TN, and most noted for his experience in youth ministry, youth gang prevention, and juvenile justice. He received his undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University, his Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion of the Interdenominational Theological Center, and is currently working toward a PhD in Public Theology & Community Engagement at Hampton University. Rev. Turner is the author of the book and program True Gentlemen and co-author of the book Black Gangs in America. He is a past President of the Civil Rights Organization, Interdenominational Minister’s Fellowship (IMF), and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
