Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

This training series introduces participants to a practical framework of trauma-informed, equity-centered school practices that can be used right away. The interaction between biology and life experiences (such as relationships and environments) shapes a child’s developing brain and body, leading to healthy development or very real barriers to optimal development. Many of our students bring life experiences of stress, adversity, or trauma into the classroom, particularly in today’s world. In this series, we discuss prevalence and issues related to both positive and adverse childhood experiences, including societal trauma and how it can show up in schools and impact learning and school success. Facilitated by Eli Foster, MNPS Trauma Informed Specialist.
