Dr. Marvin Trotter is dynamic leader focused on relationships, support, and improvement. A native of Michigan , Marvin hails from Grand Rapids where he began working in education as the Support Reform Facilitator for Grand Rapids Public Schools. After leaving Grand Rapids, Marvin served in Baton Rouge, also known as the Red Stick, where he worked as the Special Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools with a focus on community engagement, student support services, and service delivery mechanisms to help bridge the gaps and improve systems between school, home and community. In Nashville, Marvin has served as a consultant for prison education and has also served as a non-profit program manager. Prior to working in education Marvin worked for organizations that focused on youth advocacy and education. Marvin’s favorite quote is “We all aspire to be great people, but often we don’t envision what the path might be for those we encounter or the least among us.
