Lights On Afterschool is a nationwide event that unites thousands of community organizations and millions of attendees to celebrate and promote the importance of afterschool programs.
Many of NAZA’s partners will be hosting community events in October to celebrate Lights On Afterschool. We hope to see you there!

A youth-led experience, where youth will shine light on some of their favorite things about their afterschool program.
Why We Can’t Wait | 608 Cleveland St. | 4:30pm – 6pm
Our theme: “Youth Voice, Importance, and Power.” Featured presenters are State Senator Heidi Campbell and songstress DaJuana Toran, WWCW Board Chair. There will be youth presentation as well.
Youth Changes | 401 Walton Ln. | 5pm – 7pm
Youth will be showcasing projects from their Work Readiness program, including displaying mannequins with hairstyles, working a food truck, and hosting a mobile clothing store. Jere Baxter Middle School and Maplewood Cluster will be hosting a trunk-or-treat at the same time and location. View flyer in English or Spanish.
