Lights On Afterschool is a nationwide event that unites thousands of community organizations and millions of attendees to celebrate and promote the importance of afterschool programs.
Many of NAZA’s partners will be hosting community events in October to celebrate Lights On Afterschool. We hope to see you there!

Carnival-style games, STEAM activities with a literacy component, food, prizes, and free book giveaway.
Carnegie Writers & Backfield in Motion | Location TBD | 5:00pm-6:00pm
Youth will share quotes about writing and engage in conversations about literacy and self-expression. They will also share a collaborative story.
Global Outreach Developments International | DuPont Hadley Middle School, Room 46 | 1901 Old Hickory Blvd. | 5:00pm-6:00pm
Youth will use their skills to share what they have been learning during afterschool programming.
Why We Can’t Wait | Cleveland Street Baptist Church | 608 Cleveland St. | 4:00pm-6:00pm
Guest speaker: Dr. Watechia Lawless-Mitchell, Metro Nashville Director of Children & Youth Initiatives; STEM Presentation by Kyndall Neeland, Fisk University Alumni; Musical Presentation by Roz Malone.
