Youth that attend our LEGENDS program will be offered an array of activities that fall under these 7 categories: Literacy, Economics, Goals, Exercise, Nutrition, Development and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). We strive to create a safe atmosphere where youth have a voice and are allowed and encouraged to express themselves. Youth will have input on what activities they would like to do and will be able to have conversations about current topics that interest and affect them. We will partner with the other organizations and people, like the local library, the school, science programs and fitness instructors, for example, to ensure that our youth are receiving the most effective programming. We strive to supplement academic learning that youth receive in school and explore some out-of-school learning that will contribute to everyday life, such as budgeting, mindfulness and goal setting. We will, also, use our time to introduce youth to new ideas, activities and experiences with group discussions, team building challenges and field trips.
