Position Description
Nashville After Zone Alliance (NAZA) is an out-of-school time coordinating entity within the city government/Library that funds youth development programs (afterschool, summer and mentorship) for Metro Schools’ students at no cost in safe and convenient locations across Davidson County. This position supports the Nashville After Zone Alliance (NAZA) housed at Nashville Public Library by coordinating and leading functions related to the internal and external communication of NAZA; planning, organizing and overseeing large-scale community and youth events, exhibits, partner meetings; and providing other logistical supports for NAZA. The position holder will lead the development of content for NAZA website and social media, will oversee contracts with outsourced companies.

Typical Duties

  • Develops weekly communication tool for partners.
  • Creates quarterly public-facing e-newsletter, monthly PD newsletter and an annual report for NAZA.
  • Updates the program map/locator, program information, blog and training calendar regularly on the website.
  • Maintains website and keeps content up to date.
  • Creates content for NAZA social media and manages the accounts.
  • Creates, implements, and follows up on communications plan to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and oversees the implementation and budget of outsourced services with external vendors as needed.
  • Tracks status of promotions to ensure that all outlets are being maximized and ensures that all communications platforms are in sync.
  • Designs promotional materials to engage youth and partners.
  • Creates branded content and materials to engage partners; including 1-pagers, infographics, etc.
  • Plans and oversees large scale partnership conferences, workshops, annual data dives, annual youth leadership events, national afterschool events.
  • Coordinates and promotes special events; including invitations, room setup, audio visual, food, agenda, speakers, monitoring attendance, communications follow-up after the event.
  • Coordinates participation of key partners as needed.
  • Regularly visits program sites and events to take photo and video shoots, arranges interviews to develop stories and share impact of the programs.
  • Works with NPL and NPLF Marketing and Communications teams to coordinate the content development and media involvement.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises consultants and volunteers for events.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) three years of supervisory and/or administrative experience.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of supervisory and/or administrative experience.

REQUIRED LICENSE:
Valid Driver License may be required

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field
  • Experience with communications and marketing related to education, youth programming, etc.
  • Experience in website management and social media skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with WordPress, and other plug-ins such as WP Maps, Modern Events Calendar, etc.
  • Bilingual language skills

Salary

$70,122.52
