After School Programs

The information below is for 2019-2020. On August 12, 2020, this website will be updated with information about Fall 2020 afterschool programming. Programs are offered at no cost to middle school youth and their families in partnership with community-based organizations. We are waiting on guidance from MNPS as to whether programs will be in-person or virtual due to COVID-19.

Starting August 12, 2020, Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Click on any school below to find our more information and to apply.  Once your application has been submitted, staff at that program will review it. Response time varies by program but is generally 1 week.

The NAZA Program was such a blessing for my daughter and nephew (and of course many other teens). NAZA-funded programs and the adults that work with the teens really empower them for future success.  I know that it makes a difference in many families including mine. Thank you so much! — Fran B., Nashville.

"My son is high-functioning autistic, so I needed something that he enjoyed. It’s nice for me because I’m not as stressed out trying to make sure that he’s taken care of for that time after school. He loves NAZA and it keeps him active, and he’s made some friends already. I’ve had no problems with him coming home upset; he continually wants to come, be a part of it and do the extracurricular things with them."

“Our previous afterschool program was just hanging at a community center, but it was nothing instructional. It was just a place to keep you for a little bit. NAZA is very instructional for the kids, and I think it will take them a long way in life.”

“Being a single mom, working full time, and by the time I get home and cook dinner, the time is gone, so I’m more at ease because he’s being taught, and they do homework. The staff have been great. They are very enthusiastic and talk to me and make sure I understand what’s happening.”
