    “Our POWER Youth provides programming for youth ages 13-24. POWER Youth Summer employment-initiative partners with employers within Metro Government, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations to provide seasonal, part-time, year-round and career preparation experiences for youth ages 14-24. https://youtu.be/uUl4qzDNHYI. The internships begin June 6- July 24. The other opportunity is for youth that desire to work in a permanent position. These position are year round and to not have a deadline for application. POWER Youth Initiative-Youth who are thinking about: going or returning to high school or college, stopped going college or high school or currently enrolled in college or high school are connected to our POWER Youth Initiative Team members located at our American Job Center location. This team primarily work with youth year round who are ages 17-21. For more information about this program, call 615-494-4269 or email metro.action@nashville.gov. The unique part about the POWER Youth Initiative program is that it includes supportive services. This program is ideal for youth that are homeless, a young parent, have a learning or physical disability, in or were in foster care or living on their own. We also provide summer technology camp for teen age siblings of children enrolled in our Head Start and Early Head Start program. Our STEAM Camp provides hands on technology experiences as well as career exploration experiences. Each camper receives a $1000 stipend as well as a iPad for their participation. Lastly, we received funding through the Victims of Crime Act which allows us to provide supportive services for youth ages 18-24 who are victims of crime or justice involved.”
