The “Z” (YMCA of Middle TN)

Welcome to the YMCA Z Program, where we empower youth to excel in mind, body, and spirit. If you are looking for a fun, safe place for your scholar to learn the importance of being a leader and critical thinker, and grow into everything they are capable of becoming, then YMCA Z is the place to be! Our program encourages self-expression through art, dance, sports, music, STEM, and literacy, just to name a few. Through educational support, character building, and social and emotional development, caring adults help young people in the Z Program learn, explore, create, contribute and belong. The Y’s Community Action Programs (YCAP) build strong communities and families!

Total Kids Empowerment Program (Nashville international center for Empowerment)

Total Kids Empowerment Program is an afterschool experience designed to provide a supportive, welcoming atmosphere for students from diverse backgrounds. The program focuses on social emotional well-being, college and career exploration, academic support, cultural awareness and English literacy. While the majority of participants are English Learners from the Student with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE) program, TKEP is open to all students. Our goal is to cultivate culturally responsive relationships that support the integration of newly arrived students from the international community. In this program, students will learn how to identify their personal strengths, create intentional relationships, and leverage those strengths and relationships to make constructive, respectful choices.
